Southern Plains Education Cooperative Board's Facilities Commitee Recommendation
July 2018 Update:
All five remaining districts have approved the revised agreements. This means that we have approval to move forward with acquiring, renovating, and inhabiting the former Lincoln School Building in Fairmont as the new home for Southern Plains Education Cooperative's Programs, PAES Lab, and administrative offices.
Thank you to the Southern Plains member district school boards for their support of Southern Plains facilities.
June 2018 Update:
Five of the member districts approved the agreements; however, Truman did not feel that they could proceed due to their financial status. On June 6, 2018, Truman Public Schools withdrew from Southern Plains Education Cooperative effective 7/1/2019 in order to allow the remaining districts to move forward with the facilities. The remaining five districts will need to approved the amended documents (these are at the right).
For the past 7 years or so, the Southern Plains board has been discussing multiple options related to facilities for the Southern Plains Alternative Programs. The facilities committee has shared a recommendation to purchase the Lincoln School Building in Fairmont, renovate the building, and add on in order to accommodate all programs.
